My family background
The biggest role a parent plays is in giving the child a good education and deep moral values.
I grew up in a family with progressive values.
Influenced by
My father is a distinguished doctor at Ranchi; headed the Medical College as its Principal.
I very fondly and respectfully call him the ‘Lion King’.
There’s a lot to learn from the senior generation. I kid you not.
He works tirelessly.
I envy his energy and even more his wisdom. In his own words, he worships his work, and that is the key to his success.
Truly my dad is my hero!
Couple of years from now
Hopefully I would be be busy guiding young entrepreneurs.
My strongest skill
The two things that have always driven me:
Love for learning and Relentlessness!
Love for learning is really going deep to the very core and grabbing literally the building blocks and Relentlessness for me, is to not give up. How long will anything elude you!
My achievements
My role as a mother: hopefully two jobs well done.
More about myself
I do believe that as women we rely on our families, and this support means a lot to us. To this if we add an unbiased work culture, we have a recipe for success. It is important to remember that women have entered the workforce only recently. And there will be some teething issues that would need explicit fairness in smoothening out.
Initiative to develop a country
Young professionals, with their tremendous potential, hold the key to transform India into a developed country. However, they must unleash that energy; start their own businesses and use technology to solve everyday problems. Self-employment and job creation will accelerate social and economic growth of a country as large as ours. They will need to take risks even if they fail a few times in the process.
Important lesson learned
We, as women, are quick to blame the other gender for any ‘injustice’ we perceive. Recently, the CEO of Twitter was lambasted for not having a woman on the board.
Seriously, we must be kidding! Are we crying wolf?

There are far larger issues that still haunt women today; these are as basic and critical as their very existence and security.

Trivial debates are meaningless and, by crying wolf for everything we only end up alienating the whole gender. In this instance, it may get a woman to the board, but women in general, may have lost some goodwill from the other gender.

I don’t mean to imply that women are not over-looked by men.
They certainly are. But we can’t hold men to a different standard that we don’t ourselves attempt to meet.
I have seen many instances of ambitious women having trouble accepting and acknowledging other intelligent women. My point being not just men, but also women should be held to the same standard.
Thoughts on Education system of our country
Our education system has delivered qualified professionals so far.
We, however, need to strengthen the system to address the challenges of this century.
This will require attracting the best talent to teach in our schools and colleges.
To get this talent we will have to restore the respect for teaching as a profession, and give it the same value we attach with the engineering and medical professions.

Our universities should be able to get professors from all round the world, to staff the faculty of every discipline.

Qualities needed to become a successful leader
A successful entrepreneur tends to think outside the box; solves problems hidden in plain sight. And is not deterred, by the naysayers.
