Current and Previous Responsibilities

In my current role, I am responsible for certifying the product quality.Being an IC role, it involves doing all the product testing by myself. In my previous profile, i worked as part of team, wherein my responsibilities were limited to a few tasks and I had to listen to what my superiors suggested.

The Journey So Far

I started my career as Java Developer. After working for an year, I had to move into QC/QTP support due to unavoidable circumstances. I worked as QC/QTP consultant for 1.5 years before moving to ManualTesting. Eventually,I learned automation and load testing am and currently working on all the areas

Currently working at

My current job profile involves certifying the product quality. In order to do that, I have to perform manual, automation and load testing of the product and generate various kinds of report for management. It also involves liaising with dev teams on defects that may arise in the product

Degrees that Matter

I am a HP certified QTP professional. However, I feel certifications don't matter as long as you have a good grip on the subject.

A Fine Balance:

My present company provides flexi hours.
I am pretty comfortable working here and if required I can change my working hours with prior approvals.

Plans for the Future

I see myself working on Enterprise Applications as Test Architect, responsible for creating test automation frameworks and load testing plans.

Essential Advice

If you are really interested, you can definitely opt Testing as a career. However, pls be prepared to burn the midnight oil in order to differentiate yourself from competition.
