Samsung Files Lawsuit Against New iPhone 5

Bangalore: It is as if tides of troubles are swiftly changing in tech arena. Some time back it was Samsung, but now after a 180 angle twist, the target is on Apple.

Samsung Electronics said that it has filed a lawsuit against Apple Inc in a US court for infringing the company’s patents in making of iPhone 5. “We have little choice but to take the steps necessary to protect our innovations and intellectual property rights,” Samsung stated.

According to the South Korean electronic giant, Apple's iPhone and iPad infringed Samsung's 10 mobile technology patents. To name few from list, patents on power reduction on data transmission, 3G technologies for reducing errors during data transmission and wireless data communication technology. The company called for Apple to stop infringing its technology and compensate the company.

The three months ban on Galaxy Tab 10.1, won by Apple Inc in a patent dispute, was lifted yesterday by the court and now the South Korean electronic company can presume the product’s sale in US; a big set back to Apple, which after a month long trial against Samsung, ended with a resounding victory on many of its patent violation claims.

It is ironical to note that, the two tech rivals share business interests in each other, for Apple yet depends heavily on Samsung for electronic components, and such legal battles may only jeopardize the partnership.

So we have to wait and see, for twist in the tale never seems to be ceasing when it comes to Apple versus Samsung.
