Apple Got Hacked, Fingers Point At Facebook Hackers

Bangalore: In less than a week after Facebook was attacked, the hackers targeted Apple this time. The company, in an unprecedented disclosure, said that Macintosh computers of some employees got infected with malware. It is the widest known cyber attack against Apple-made computers to date, reports Reuters.

The Macs of the Apple employees contracted the virus when they visited an infected website for software developers. The malware had been designed to attack Mac computers, the company said in a statement.

The malware that exploited a flaw in Oracle’s Java software which attacked Facebook after its use as plug-in on web browsers is now used to attack Macs.

The malware was also employed in attacks against Mac computers used by "other companies," Apple said, however the scale of destruction it caused was not disclosed.
