Android Stats: Only 1.8 Pc Use Latest Jelly Bean

Bangalore: Google may have made one of the best updates in mobile operating system with its latest Android Jelly Bean. However, the truth is, less than only 2% of all Android devices are running on it- almost after three months of its launch.

According to the stats from Google Play Store, more than 55 percent of the Android devices are still running on 2.3 Gingerbread, which was released two years back. Whereas, its latest Jelly Bean OS has reached a mere 1.8 percent instalations.

Unlike other mobile platforms, the phone manufacturers on Android have long been criticized for not bringing the OS updates on time. Even the Android flagships, like Samsung Galaxy S3 has still not received its Jelly Bean update.

Meanwhile, Android’s key rival Apple iOS’s latest version iOS 6, which was released just 3 weeks ago, has already been installed on 35 percent of Apple devices including iPhones, iPads and iPod touchs. According to latest update from Apple, more than 100 million people had upgraded to this latest OS.

So if Google could not find a way to make its Android updates reach customers on time, they will eventually lose them to Windows or other platforms available in the ecosystem.
