Apple’s iOS6 Is Now Available For Downloads

Bangalore: Apple released its latest offering, the iOS6, an update of the mobile operating system that powers its devices including iPad and the latest iPhone. The OS is now available for download and users can get it by connecting the supported Apple device to computer and launching iTunes, or simply by opting for “Software Update”. The update may take from few minutes to half an hour depending on the net speed. 

The new OS supports second and third generation iPads, fourth and fifth generation iPod Touches, and iPhones 3GS, 4, 4S and sure 5.    

The new features are:

 1) It allows Siri voice commands to work on the third generation iPad and the new iPod Touch.

2) It integrates Facebook into the OS

3) A new app called PassBook, which digitally stores flight boarding passes, movie tickets, and other items.

4) Apple’s new Map app, which replaces Google Maps for navigation, it includes voice turn-by-turn navigation and a feature called Flyover, which will show you some cities and landmarks on the go.

iOS 6 will also lack many features from its previous version, mainly Google Maps.
