'Powai' To Become India's Next Startup Destination
Venture capitalists look at the booming startup hub as a challenge for India’s Silicon Valley coating examples of ventures that sprouted and flourished in the valley of Powai. Unlike other startup hotbeds in India, most of the startups in Powai are in the consumer space, whether it’s internet or mobile.
Even though the southern city of Bangalore holds much engineering skill followed on heels by National Capital Region and Gurgoan, the talents flow from IIT-B can provide the rising Powai an upper hand over others. Vineeta Singh and Kaushik Mukherjee, the co-founders of Fabbag.com, an e-commerce site that deals with beauty products said that Powai is safe as far as the large female workforce is concerned.
Advitiya Sharma, Co-founder of the startup venture Housing.com that scooped up 40 IITians said "Great companies are built with the help of talented people, and I believe it is this access which will make more start-ups opt for Powai,"
