A journey from educating to enhancing the potentiality of young minds, training them to fly, and giving them wings to fly!!

The Nadathur S Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL) the startup incubator of IIM Bangalore, prudently organized the ‘100 Social Impact Ventures’ celebration on the 9th of February, 2024. Investors, founders, young entrepreneurs, and educators shared the same platform hoisting the oneness towards the ‘Orbit of Change’, a vigorous search for purpose, talent, and innovation. 

The three key themes that Impact Orbit runs incubation programs supporting social enterprises are technology for impact, circular economy, and rural innovations. To bolster the dream of young minds and the world of innovation, NSRCEL fortifies its strength and ideas through collaborations and partnerships with other ecosystem stakeholders to enhance the program's impact and reach.

The session began with an amazing welcome speech by Prof. Srivardhini Jha, Chairperson, NSRCEL, and Anand Sri Ganesh, CEO, NSRCEL. The session’s rhythm was rightly set by two renowned experts, Kumar Anurag Pratap, Vice President and CSR Leader, Capgemini India through his ‘Perspective of Partner’ speech, and Sanjay Modi, Senior Director, Michael & Susan Dell Foundation on ‘Role of Philanthropy in Catalyzing Social Innovation’.

From 2017 to 2023, the visionary journey was very well executed with clear and comprehensive visuals and data by Nachiket Kulkarni, AVP, Impact Orbit in his presentation on ‘Way forward by Impact Orbit’. The importance of the celebration was effortfully showcased in every part of his presentation. 

The celebration was enhanced with further mindful sessions of esteemed experts like Rahul Hotchandani, Head Business Consultant & Startup Manager, Shark Tank India, Mayank B Nagori, Founder, Gud Gum, Susmitha Ghosh, AVP, Women Entrepreneurship shared their thoughts and experiences about Shark Tank India and current startup ecosystem. Further, interactive sessions were very well planned and executed to discuss the ‘Mainstreaming Impact Ventures: Navigating the landscape of SSE & impact financing’ by another set of esteemed experts like Prof. Venkatesh Panchapagesa, Professor of Finance, Faculty Head, IIMB Real Estate Research Initiative; Abhishek Rozatkar, SEBI; Randhir Mishra, Founder Unnati Foundation; Vrunda Bansode Sattva Consulting; and Ajinkya Dhariya, Founder, Padcare Labs. 

NSRCEL’s Impact Orbit is India's largest social enterprise incubator in terms of the volume of startups incubated. Exploring innovation, recognition, and social impact, NSRCEL is successfully adding content about various stories, talents, and ideas to bring out valuable insights that will help in inspiring and building unknown possibilities. One common effective instrument to boost the confidence of young leaders and entrepreneurs is through the right amount of support & guidance and funding & investment. NSRCEL stands out by incubating both for-profit and non-profit ventures at a substantial scale, showcasing a commitment to fostering a diverse range of impactful enterprises. 

Being the first and best part of reference between the investors and young founders, NSRCEL is bridging the gap and has successfully incubated over 100 ventures and generated employment for over 12,000 individuals. Looking at the status of funding, NSRCEL has profoundly impacted the lives of more than 1.3 million people and deployed grants amounting to 21+ crores. Ventures further rose follow-on funding exceeding 30 crores. 

The end is just the beginning of something new, something innovative, and something valuable, similarly, NSRCEL aims to incubate approximately 200 more ventures during 2023-2025, signifying an ambitious growth plan.
