In a major step towards developing India's AI and cloud infrastructure, Bhavish Aggarwal's AI-based startup Krutrim has partnered with Cloudera in a strategic alliance. The partnership is to enhance both Ola and Krutrim Cloud's large-scale analytics and data lake solutions and plans to offer the same infrastructure to other enterprise clients soon.
Today, Ola's operations are powered by the strong data platform of Cloudera, and that same infrastructure will be extended via Krutrim Cloud to provide next-generation solutions to businesses nationwide. The alliance is aimed at accelerating AI capabilities, business transformation, and customer experiences through scalable, secure, and real-time data solutions.
Krutrim is developing a vertically integrated cloud platform customized to the needs of India's enterprise sector. This encompasses compute, storage, data management, and AI-powered end applications that are specifically configured for India's linguistic and cultural requirements. Its stack includes foundational models in text, voice, and video to democratize access to AI in the Indian ecosystem.

Through Cloudera's consulting experience and data platform, Krutrim has developed real-time data processing solutions to create actionable insights from huge sets of data, as seen in Ola's business. This platform is meant to enable startups, businesses, and researchers with robust and affordable AI-driven data lake capabilities.
We are developing India's own sovereign cloud with highly integrated capabilities across infrastructure, data, and AI to address the different requirements of our market," said Navendu Agarwal, Krutrim's Senior VP and Head of Business.
Mayank Baid, Cloudera Regional VP, further commented, "Krutrim's vision to build a robust AI foundation for India aligns perfectly with our vision of empowering trusted enterprise AI through data. With Ola already executing critical workloads on this stack and co-building solution frameworks with our team, we are excited to assist in bringing this technology to wider enterprise adoption throughout the nation.
This partnership marks a critical step in India's journey towards creating a self-reliant and future-ready AI ecosystem.
