Info Edge Acquires Makesense Technologies for 80 million


Bangalore: Info Edge, one of the largest internet companies in India has acquired MakeSense Technologies for about 80 million. MakeSense has developed an advanced semantic search technology for the recruitment space, using the power of natural language processing and text analytics. It was founded and promoted by Vivek Arya and Anand Ramachandran both of who are IIT Bombay alumni.

As a part of the acquisition, the team of MakeSense will join InfoEdge.

Commenting on the takeover, Hitesh Oberoi, CEO, Info Edge India said “The acquisition will significantly benefit InfoEdge and specially Naukri as the technological expertise and experience of the MakeSense team will help us introduce new features for our recruitment business.”

On the takeover, the founders of MakeSense technologies, Anand Ramachandran and Vivek Arya commented “We are excited to be joining hands with Naukri. Their leadership position in the online recruitment space makes it possible for us to take our artificial intelligence powered semantic search technology to every recruiter and working professional.”
