Flipkart Vs Amazon: Who Will Strike It Big In India?


Flipkart will expand opening more warehouses to at least 50 in the coming years and focus on cash on delivery, as a large population of India are still yet to have access to bank accounts and pay through the use of cards. They are also looking to increase the number of Mobile users, so are looking into innovating the mobile services. Apart from all these technical aspects, Flipkart also hopes to increase the number of merchandise sellers from its present 4000 merchandise to 50,000 sellers by the end of next year.

Flipkart is reported to not be looking for profit now as Chief Executive and co-founder Sachin Bansal said “We don't plan to focus on making a profit until we have signed up more than 100 million users.”

They will focus on deep discounts and big incentives for its merchant sellers. They are planning to hire in large numbers and acquire companies with new products.

This competition between the two retail giants will give customers quicker, faster, and reliable and safety payment methods making the consumers life easier. This will make India grow economically and also have a side effect growth in the internet and broadband sector. This would slowly change the face of the Indian society.
