1. Jim Goetz

Jim Goetz is a venture capitalist at Sequoia Capital in Silicon Valley, wears the crown to be on the top in the list of venture investors this year. Goetz is the largest venture capital investor of all time; he combined $60 million or so in three rounds to support WhatsApp.

And when WhatsApp's was sold to Facebook at a $19 billion, it meant he has $3 billion in Facebook stock.  Goetz spend half of his time in mobile and half time in enterprise where he's had a string of public exits: Ruckus Wireless, Palo Alto Networks and now Barracuda Networks and Nimble Storage.

Goetz continues to be on the board of director list on many four billion-plus public companies, as well as at Jive Software and WhatsApp.
