9. The Press Leads Us to Believe It Is Easier Than It Is
The job of press is to write about stories that generate page views, which in turn will bring in money. Failure and difficult times don’t really get too many page views. Success, money, glory, and the end result of hard work certainly do get page views. That is way there are many stories about these things in the press making us think that raising money, selling company, or launching is just so easy.
8. The Real Work Starts at the Keyboard and With Customers
If have a startup you’re either making something or selling something. If you haven’t done that yet, what you’re doing at a startup? Sure there are operational tasks that need to be handled, but all founders can bear that burden. As a whole, founders + early employees need to make sure their actions have a direct impact on something is made or something be sold.
