HR Compliance: 4 Must-Know Things for Startup CEOs

Bangalore: Being a CEO of a startup, it makes sense to focus completely on expanding the business and luring new customers. But, though the number of employees in the company may be few, it is now becoming critically important to abide by the HR compliance which requires following a lot of administrative things to be taken care of and meeting with the government regulations.

As published in Gigaom, here are four HR compliances that every CEO should not overlook:

1. Curbing Workplace Discrimination

One of the major hurdles that is posed in front of any startup is its employees complaining about racial and sexual discriminations at their workplace, but only a few startups implement measures to curb such complains. What is needed is a well thought of training to train its employees not to indulge in such activities. The liability of limiting complains regarding pregnancy discrimination, disability discrimination, and retaliation claims also falls on the shoulders of employer.

2. Following Benefits Regulations

It is quite rare though for startups to offer retirement and other benefits, but for those who are, it becomes pretty daunting to adapt to the changing laws and regulations. It requires a number of tests that need to be conducted, applying proper planning provisions, collecting notices from the employees, completing the government filings etc.
