10 Promising Tech Startups: Where are they now?

Bangalore: The easiest way for any startup to gain traction is to attract users quickly. A huge user base would help companies to procure funding easily and this in turn would make it a hot favorite for all major businessmen. Sometimes, aggressive promotion and funding doesn’t necessarily guarantee success for the business in the long run. Here are few tech startups which were much hyped in their early stages but have now been crumpled as reported Mashable.

Turntable.fm

Turntable is a social music startup which was formed in mid 2011 and was widely acclaimed as one of the most promising and exciting music companies of the year. It attracted a massive user base of 140,000 users in its first month of operation and also managed to raise around $7.5 million at a whopping valuation of $37.5 million.

Turntable allows its members to choose different avatars and gather in a virtual DJ room, letting them spin different tracks and discover music. This was often termed to be ‘addictive’ but the interest of the user gradually seemed to wear off.
