In a landmark leadership transition, TVS Motor Company has announced that its current Managing Director, Sudarshan Venu, will assume the role of Chairman of the Board effective August 25, 2025. The move marks a generational shift at one of India’s most iconic automotive companies.
The decision was formalized during the board meeting held on June 5. Venu Srinivasan, the company’s long-serving Chairman who played a pivotal role in transforming TVS Motor into a global force, will transition to the role of Chairman Emeritus. He will continue to offer strategic guidance to the company.
Sudarshan Venu, who has been instrumental in the company’s modernisation and expansion, joined TVS over a decade ago. His leadership has been central to the brand’s electric mobility push with the iQube scooter and strategic global acquisitions, including Norton Motorcycles. He was appointed Joint Managing Director in 2018 and took over as Managing Director in 2022.
