TVS Motor Company has announced plans to set up a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Karnataka and expand its production and engineering operations in Mysuru. The company will also develop a new test track and establish additional office infrastructure in the state.
The announcement was made by TVS Motor Company’s Managing Director, Sudarshan Venu, at the inaugural event of the Global Investors Meet (GIM), Invest Karnataka 2025. The company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Karnataka government on Tuesday, committing an investment of Rs 2,000 crore over the next five years.
Speaking at the event, Venu emphasized the company’s vision to build a capability centre that will attract top talent, foster innovation, and serve as a research hub for next-generation motorcycles. “The office and allied infrastructure will bring together engineers, designers, innovators, AI and ML experts, who will define what is next. Karnataka is a place where great ideas take off, and we are excited to expand our footprint in the state”, he stated.
TVS Motor has grown to become the world’s fourth-largest two-wheeler manufacturer, with a global user base of 58 million. Venu acknowledged the support of government stakeholders in achieving this milestone. He also reiterated the company’s commitment to advancing its 2030 goals, aiming to set new standards in personal and commercial mobility.
The company currently operates a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Mysuru, employing over 3,500 people and producing 1.5 million vehicles annually. The factory supplies both domestic and international markets, with exports generating Rs 1,200 crore out of its total revenue of Rs 7,600 crore.
With the new expansion initiatives, TVS Motor aims to double its exports and overall revenues from the Mysuru facility.
Apart from Mysuru, the company operates two other factories in India one in Hosur, on the outskirts of Bengaluru, spanning 300 acres, and another in Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh. The latest investment plan underscores TVS Motor’s commitment to strengthening its presence in Karnataka and driving future innovation in the two-wheeler segment.
