Adani Wilmar Eyes 10% Growth with Urban Revival and Quick Grocery Delivery
Adani Wilmar is positive of achieving 10% sales growth in the next fiscal year that primarily owes to a surge in demand from 10-minute grocery delivery apps and a resurgence in urban consumer spending due to tax cuts.
The company's Chief Executive, Angshu Mallick, shared this projection with Reuters on Wednesday, pointing out India's tax cuts were most likely to put more disposable income in the hands of consumers, which would spur consumption, especially in the food sector.
“When consumers have excess money, we’ve noticed they tend to prioritize buying quality food”, Mallick explained, forecasting a growth of over 20% in the company’s food business by March 2026. However, in the third quarter, Adani Wilmar reported a modest 5% growth in sales volume, with its edible oil business showing a 4% increase.
Looking ahead, Mallick sees the edible oil segment, home to the 'Fortune' cooking oil brand, growing by at least 6% in the next year. This would help the company to grow at least 10%.
