Toyota Expands Legender 4X4 Lineup with New Manual Transmission Variant
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has added its premium SUV range with the introduction of a Manual Transmission (MT) version of the Toyota Legender 4X4. The new addition is aimed at driving enthusiasts looking for more control and involvement without compromising on the model's premium features and off-road prowess.
The Legender 4X4 MT is powered by Toyota's reliable 2.8L diesel engine, delivering 204 PS of power and 420 Nm of torque. The addition of a 6-speed manual transmission provides enhanced precision and control, especially useful in challenging terrains.

The Legender is the high-end version of Toyota's best-selling Fortuner SUV, which has dominated the full-size SUV market in India for more than a decade. Launched in 2021, the Legender created a niche for itself with unique styling and high-end features, appealing to customers looking for a more premium version of the regular Fortuner. It rivals the likes of the MG Gloster, Ford Endeavour, and top-of-the-line versions of the Mahindra XUV700.
The manual transmission model in response to criticism from off-road users and driving enthusiasts who value the directness of a manual gearbox. The model is especially attractive in challenging landscapes where each turn must be very precise.
The Legender has its familiar catamaran-style design, complete with angular front and rear bumpers, a piano-black grille, LED lights with sequential turn signals, and so on. The interior is a dual-tone black and maroon color scheme, ambient illumination, ventilated front seats, and an 11-speaker JBL sound system to enhance the experience.
