Wi-Fi services to 500 railway stations by Google

Modi visited Google campus at Silicon Valley on September 27th and met the Indian origin Google CEO Sunder Pichai. Pichai announced their future plan to tie up with Indian Railways in order to provide free Wi-Fi in 500 railway stations across the country within a year. Post meeting Modi even met with the Google employees and spoke about the ‘Code 4 India Hackathon’ and explained the need to promote the Hackathon culture in India.

Modi’s Digital India campaign

Modi has been promoting digital India for a long time. But this time the Prime Minister took advantage of the visit to the Silicon Valley and asked the tech giants gathered to be a part of his Digital India campaign. He explained his plans on connecting all the educational institutions in the country with broadband and Wi-Fi hotspots. He also mentioned the launch of Narendra Modi app after the mygov.in. He didn’t fail to give example of digital growth in the country, by letting the world know that the farmers in the country are now using WhatsApp to share tips and techniques with each other.
