BANGALORE: For a developing country like India, bringing down the poverty rates and providing access to basic education, health and nutrition to its struggling class of people should be brought to primary concern. But nevertheless the women social entrepreneurs in the country is in to this dream of helping and empowering the poor in order to make a social change, reports live mint.

In worldwide the numbers of women coming forth and participating in social and business ventures are increasing day by day. They have been contributing to bring a good impact in the sectors of education, health, energy, e-learning, waste management, violence against women and children and e-business. In the recent scenario the Indian entrepreneurs are proving that they are not only equal to the men but superior in bringing a transformation in the society.

From 2001 Schwab Foundation has been honoring the inspirational social entrepreneurs globally. In partnership with Jubilant Bhartia Foundation they have been conducting the Social Entrepreneur of the Year awards each year since 2010.  Over the years the event has seen the drastic increase in the number of women applicant moreover in 2013 and 2015 all the finalists were women for their innovative way of contributing for a good cause.
