2. Rani Lakshmi Bai:

Rani Lakshmi Bai, the queen of Jhansi was one of the leading warriors of India's first struggle of independence and was also one of the most important women of the revolt of 1857.

She symbolizes bravery, patriotism and honor. She was admired by all for the attitude she had. Her father was the one who encouraged her since her childhood by raising her in an exceptional way and supported her to learn to ride elephants and horses and also to use weapons effectively. Rani Lakshmi Bai fought till her last breath for India’s independence with perseverance and bravery. She is popularly known as ‘Jhansi Ki Rani’ and also "Joan of Arc" of the Indian independence struggle.

3. Begum Hazrat Mahal:

Begum Hazrat Mahal who was also known as the Begum of Oudh was a courtesan turned freedom fighter who rebelled against the British East India Company during the India’s First War of Independence with the enthusiasm to triumph. Despite her husband being in exile, Begum was successful in keeping Lucknow safe from the clutches of the Britishers. She greatly supported fellow mutineers like Nana Saheb and motivated the masses to rebel against the British Raj. The government of India issued a stamp in her honour on 10th may 1984.
