Non-Cooperation Movement

The Non-Cooperation Movement was launched on 1st August, 1920 by Gandhi. The result of Rowlett Act, the Jallianwalla Bagh massacre, martial law in Punjab, and Khilafat Movement led to the initiation of non-cooperation movement. This movement totally shook the British authorities, and encouraged the Indian nationalists and boosted the Indian goods. As a result of non-cooperation movement, foreign goods were boycotted and burnt, and the import of foreign goods declined drastically during this period. This scaled up the local textile industries.
