Inflation and food prices

Back to back droughts will lead to rise in food price especially in rural India. Poor transportation system will not let global prices to reach the villages. Scarcity of fodder and water may put a stop to milk production at the beginning of this year. If looked at the numbers, rural inflation reached upto 5.05pct in September 2015, mostly due to food prices.  Prime Minister Modi is already sketching subsidy regimes to handle this crisis.

Government schemes vis-a-vis jobs

During National Skill Development Mission Programme in New Delhi in 2015, PM Modi said, “If China is recognized as the ‘manufacturing factory’ of the world; India can become the ‘human resource capital’.”Government initiatives like Make in India or Skill India is expected to raise the employment bar in 2016. As per TOI survey, private sector will hit a 10pct-30pct increase in hiring. The same lists IT, telecom and manufacturing sectors as the biggest recruiters for next year.
