Sampat Pal’s movement grows from an individual crusade to one comprising of large number of women. The film refuses to speak the language of feminism as it shows the patriarchal society wherein even the female psyche is filled with patriarchy.

Concerns over dam safety were first raised by Kerala government citing the possible damage that could destroy the protected area in and around Thekkady, where the dam is situated. The film shows the illogical moves taken by the governments that can cause some irreversible damages.
