Over the last few decades in Iran, more than 10,000 drug traffickers and narcotics users have been publicly executed as part of the country’s  ‘War on Drugs’. The Malaysian legislation (sale of Drugs Act 1952 revised 1989) provides for a mandatory death penalty for convicted drug traffickers. Under Malaysia anti-drug laws, any person found in possession of at least 15 grams of heroin, 200 grams of cannabis is presumed to be in drug trafficking.

According to Singapore’s Misuse of Drugs Act, any persons caught leaving known drug establishments are subject to a police search without a warrant and are liable to face maximum penalties.
