10 Indian States with Highest Sex Ratio


Bangalore: If the world screams population control, India replies by its consequent spells of baby boom.  However, India does have trouble keeping the balance with sex ratio, which after many awareness programmes initiated by government and NGO’s in the country is now showing some positive results. Sex ratio is the number of females per 1000 of males at a given time, in any given country.  As per the result based on the data collected by Census of India in 2001 and in 2011, here are the top ten states and territories in India ranked as per their sex ratio.

Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh is ranked tenth on the list with 974 women per 1000 men in the 2011 census. It was 970 per 1000 men in 2001 census. Very marginal rise, even then this increase in the number of women can only be expected to rise gradually. The increase in the sex ratio is calculated as +4 in this state as per yahoo.com

Mizoram
Rank: 9
The state of Mizoram shows a better rise in the number of women as against the men. As per the 2011 census it is 975 women per 1000 men, it was 934 women per 1000 men in 2001. The sex increase ration in the state is +37 in the span of ten years.
