Well, the last month of the year, December, is known for its decor and beautiful lights everywhere. Even though it is freezing cold in many areas, it still delights us with Christmas Day and New Year's Eve celebrations. It looks like 2021 flash passed at the bat of an eye. Celebration of this year's awesomeness is incomplete without entertainment and binge-watching session. From Netflix to Theaters releases, screens will be chock-a-block with thrill, action, romance, drama, and of course, the Christmas vibes. 

As Percy Bysshe Shelley said, "If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?" (Ode to the West Wind), it conveys an optimistic message about the cycle of joy and sorrow. It says if something bad or unfortunate happens, one mustn't lose heart for there is certainly something better and much more fortunate that will soon follow. Nevertheless, this is the perfect time to cheer you up for the coming year. From Money Heist Season 5 Volume 2Spider-man: No way home to 83, and The Matrix: Resurrections, here is the list of movies and web series releasing in December 2021 in theaters and OTT.

  • Money Heist S5 Vol. 2 (3rd Dec)


Money Heist Season 5 Vol. 2 is streaming on Netflix today, including the final five episodes in the series. Popular as La Casa de Papel in Spanish, the first volume of season 5 streamed on September 3. Fans are up for a lively ride as the show comes to a legendary end. 

In Volume 1 of the fifth season, the death of Tokyo had left the characters and the fans outraged and emotional. As per the final season, her death and Nairobi's death are likely to impact the crew's psyche. A tempting question arises among fans if the heist crew dies or survives. Additionally, the only thing holding Tamayo from sending the full force of the police and army is the Gold that's being held, hostage. 

Well, the excitement and expectation are high among the viewers. Like all the four previous seasons of the series, Money Heist season 5 Volume 2 is also available in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu in India.

  • Spider-man : No Way Home (16th Dec)


Happy Spider-Man: No Way Home release month to you all. To be honest, this movie plays a significant part in getting you excited about December. Fans can't wait for this End Game version of the Spider-Man universe: all favorite characters are coming together in this mind-bending movie. Sony and Marvel are promoting the movie as a sort of mini-Avengers. Apart from Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Doctor Strange, the film also brings back several super-villains from previous Spider-Man franchises led by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.

The anticipated story of the movie is that Spider-Man is unmasked and struggling to separate his everyday life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. Peter approaches Doctor Strange for help. When a spell operates wrong, dangerous antagonists from other worlds appear, forcing Peter to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.

  • The Matrix: Resurrections (22nd Dec)


After all these years, the coming back of the Matrix has leveled up the excitement. The trailer looked brilliant, overwhelmed by strange memories; Neo's life takes an astonishing turn when he finds himself back inside the Matrix. The appearance of Priyanka Chopra has also added to the curiosity of Indian viewers. 

The Matrix Resurrections parallels the original Matrix film in many ways and explains how the main characters Neo and Trinity are now alive. Director, Chad Stahelski, told, "I'm super happy that the Wachowskis are not just doing a 'Matrix,' but they're expanding what we all loved."

  • 83 (24th Dec)


83 is a biographical sports drama of Kapil Dev (Ranveer Singh), one of the most celebrated players in the history of Indian cricket. The storyline centers on the historic win of India in the Cricket World Cup (1983) under Dev's captaincy. Ranveer Singh had received special training from Kapil Dev before the shooting started. At Dharamshala Cricket Stadium, the star cast was also trained in the camp under the guidance of former cricketers Balwinder Sandhu and Yashpal Sharma.

"I said before, we here to win." Ranveer and Deepika's duo feels extra special, and indeed they are digging the movie's vibe. The much-awaited official trailer of Kabir Khan's directorial film, 83, proves to be worth waiting. Ranveer Singh will be seen stepping into the shoes of Kapil Dev, while Deepika Padukone will be seen playing Romi, wife of the former captain of the Indian cricket team.

After the trailer release, Kapil said that his family had mixed reactions. "I think mixed because I don't know how much the role of my wife is in 83, so one does not realise that what they are trying to do there," he said. Kapil also called Ranveer a 'great actor' and seemed impressed by his work in the movie.

  • Jersey - 31st Dec


The movie's storyline is about a talented but failed cricketer who returns to the field at 36. He is driven by his dream to play for the Indian cricket team and to fulfill his son's wish for a jersey as a gift. The trailer looks super intense, and it will be emotional in and out. The sports drama film is written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, a remake of his 2019 Telugu film of the same title. The original version of the film Jersey received two National Awards - for Best Telugu Film and Best Editor.

The star cast is Shahid Kapoor is co-starring Mrunal Thakur. The movie has also displayed the story of Arjun's assistant coach, who stands by an orphan even at his most irrational best, hoping that he will aid him in accomplishing his dream someday.
