Friday Releases that are Worth Weekending On: Here's the List

The work-life culture leads the people to live on the weekend. Well, how many of you are living for Saturdays and Sundays to appear? In my opinion, it isn't peaceful to long for those two days; all through the five working days when we have Friday, that welcomes weekends. Yes, the weekend is finally here.

"What are you doing on Friday?" could be a repetitive question. But a movie buff always knows where they will be on the day, holding their favorite corner and watching the exciting and latest movies/series that released this week. Mostly, the different OTT platforms have made this choice the easiest and quick one. Since we have the day and the platforms, there is no meaning to waste more time filtering what to watch.  So, grab your device and play the list of series/movies and say hello to happy weekend.

Midnight Mass

Midnight Mass, the latest horror series from Mike Flanagan, the mind behind another horror series, The Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor streaming today, September 24, on Netflix. The Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor is the most personal and intense work yet of Mike Flanagan. And the viewers have the same expectation from Midnight Mass too. Featuring Zach Gilford, Hamish Linklater, and Rahul Kohli, Midnight Mass is revolved around a Catholic small-town community, where strange things begin to happen when a new priest comes into town. 

The series presents seven episodes with a combination of fear, misinformation, and disenfranchisement. It unveils itself as a potent mix that can lead to unspeakable acts under the appearance of religious ideology. It’s a bleak idea that resonates with our present-day existence. But Mike Flanagan makes sure to inspire his characters with love and empathy, leaving marks of hope along the way, as dark and troubling as things get. So does the expectation from Midnight Mass. 

Kota Factory Season 2

Kota Factory 2 is the sequel to TVF's famous show of the same name. Mayur More plays the protagonist of Vaibhav in the show, who explores the lives of aspirants preparing for competitive exams in Kota, Rajasthan. The brand new second season of the series is releasing today, September 24, on Netflix, take fans on a nostalgic ride.

Kota Factory was released on TVFPlay and YouTube. It gained such tremendous popularity and outstanding rating on IMDb and Google reviews, season 2 is streaming on a much bigger platform, Netflix.

The Starling

The Starling is releasing on Netflix on September 24th. Packed with emotion and humor, Hollywood icon Melissa McCarthy features in the tale of grief and love. It a drama-comedy, converges on married couple Lilly (Melissa) and Jack Maynard, played by Irish actor Chris O'Dowd, at a turning point in their lives. It is about a woman settling to live a life after losing her baby daughter, contesting with an aggressive bird that's laid interest to her garden—and a husband who's struggling to discover a way forward. Confronting the prospect of being ripped apart by the tragedy of losing their child, The Starling contemplates how Lilly and Jack experience grief in their own, very different ways. As per Netflix's synopsis, "A woman adjusting to life after a loss contends with a feisty bird that's taken over her garden—and a husband who's struggling to find a way forward."

Vendetta: Truth, Lies and the Mafia

Vendetta: Truth, Lies and the Mafia is a documentary true-crime drama series from Nutopia for the association originated from Mon Amour Films. It is streaming today, September 24, on Netflix. Roggero di Maggio and Davide Gambino wrote and produced the story for the Mon Amour Films and Nicola Moody, David Herman, and Jane Root for the Nutopia.

It is based on two anti-mafia crusaders in Sicily: journalist and the host of the TV Pino Maniaci who has spent over the two decades battling associated crime on his local TV station Silvana Saguto Italy's most strong judge of anti-mafia.

It has six episodes that centered around the real dramatic story of the two leaders at the heart of Sicily's anti-mafia movement portrays the journalist and TV host Pino Maniaci and the court of Palermo Judge Silvana Saguto in which both have just been accused to engaging the crime. They have fought against for decades.

It has been featured that the unparalleled access for both Maniaci and Saguto that the intact families and also the legal teams that have accompanied both trials and have been closed with the verdict in both of the cases.

Blood & Water

Blood & Water was an immediate hit on Netflix, and fans are already impatient to watch a second season of the South African series. Set in South Africa, Blood & Water shows the gripping story of Puleng Khumalo and the scandalous lives of Cape Town's elite. Puleng is a 16-year-old girl who migrates to Parkhurst College after a fated encounter with someone who she believes is her older sister, who was abducted at birth. It follows six episodes of drama, controversy, and shocking plot twists.

Since the first season concludes with Puleng and Fikile both figuring out that they are sisters, we imagine that season 2 will be about how that transforms their relationship and the people behind them.
