Bangalore: India’s strict Internet censorship plan has lead to Anonymous to go after the Indian Government websites which resulted in the blocking of websites such as The Pirate Bay and Vimeo.

 Anonymous, an international Internet hacktivist group accuses that the country's Internet censorship plan has resulted in the blocking of websites. The @Anon_Central Twitter feed tweeted earlier today, "Namaste #India, your time has come to trash the current government and install a new one. Good luck,"

According to @Anon_Central, Indian government websites like the Department of Telecommunications, the Ministry of Information Technology, the Indian Supreme Court, the All India Congress Committee, Copyrightlabs.in, and the Jammu & Kashmir Police are already famous among hackers.

"India has been known to censor online content, typically under the guise of national security or obscenity." As stated by the Electronic Frontier Foundation in February. The same month also saw Indian government forcing nearly 21 companies, which included internet giants like Facebook and Google; to take down offensively deemed photographs, videos, text, and other items that officials considered anti-religious or anti-social.

The web users throughout Twitter are been continuously encouraged, leading the charge is @opindia_revenge, under the #OpIndia tag. "Use tor or VPNs to access torrent sites. #DEFY #government. Tell them they cannot stop you" says the feed.

"#India it’s a DDOS attack. We do not assure for how long we can keep down sites. But we are firing at them. They will face lags," the @opindia_revenge tweeted.
