Anonymous Targets Indian Govt Websites

A series of successful distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks was used by the Anonymous hacktivists against Indian government websites. An orchestrated attempt to make a computer resource unavailable to its intended users is a DDoS attack. It neither does a permanent damage nor the website is hacked, and also none of the information is tampered with, lost or stolen.

The Pirate Bay announced that their website was under attack after an unrevealed DDoS recently hit the website. It takes a considerable number of computers and connections, not to mention effort and skill, to conduct one such attack. Wikileaks.org also had a similar massive attack several days before.
