9 Biggest Data Breaches of 2014




It was the second biggest breach ever reported to the Health and Human Services Department.

Coco cola: The multinational beverages company also came under the scanner of cyber hackers. This time though the company has released that a former employee from Atlanta had stolen 55 computers that had encrypted personal information of 74000 people, most of which were employees.

The company has a policy   that all computers are supposed to be encrypted so that the company can trace the computers as well as keep it safe from unauthorized intrusion but the 55 stolen ones weren’t encrypted.

American Express: The Secret Service had notified AmEx that several large files containing personal information of about 76,608 American Express account records had been upload over the internet sites by an individual claiming to be apart of the worldwide hacking group.

Similar problems were also notified along the Californian residents that they were trying their best to prevent the compromise.

Veteran of Foreign Wars: The VFW of U.S. sent out notifications to all its veteran members that 55000 veterans information was attacked by hackers, which they believe is mostly Chinese hackers who were looking for military intelligence.

They had downloaded tables of names, social security numbers and addresses. They identified the malware used to hack was a remote access Trojan.
