Michaels stores: It is an arts and crafts retail chain, operating more then 1040 stores across 49 states in the U.S. and in Canada. They also run the Aaron Brothers retail chains that have more than 115 stores.

The company reported that hackers had used sophisticated malware and compromised customer information of over 2.6 million card payments and expiry dates of Michaels stores and 400,000 Aaron Brothers customers. They later received confirmation of fraudulent use of the data stolen from their database.

St. Joseph health systems: This is Texas health care server provider that was hacked, which had more than 405000 former and current patient’s information. It also had information regarding employee’s beneficiaries. The systems had all information like social security numbers, addresses, accounts and emails.

But the server provider weren’t able to determine if the information was stolen or merely accessed. Either way it posed a threat to sensitive data that could damage lives if in the wrong hands.

LexisNexis: It is a corporation that providers computer assisted legal research as well as business research and risk solution services. The company has data of the largest database of legal and public-records information.

It pioneers in electronic accessibility of legal and journalistic documents. It was reported this year that hackers had stolen over 1 million social security numbers including the Michelle Obama’s security number the first lady of U.S, from three large U.S data brokers. 

Advocate Medical Group: It is a Physician Led Medical group that is committed to provide medical care, out patient services and community based medical camps. They are the largest health system in Illinois and one of the largest in the Midwest. It was recently reported that four computers that contained information about patient names, social security numbers, addresses and date of births were stolen from the administration building.
