Bangalore: IBM, the American multinational technology corporation, is well known for their innovative and pioneered computing products. But the fact still remains that IBM is less recognized for their role and their priceless contributions in modern architecture. Over 150 massive and beautiful plants, labs and office buildings were built by IBM in between 1956 and 1971. #1 IBM Facility

Place: Rochester, Minnesota

Year of Completion: 1958

After Thomas Watson Jr. took over as the president in 1956, IBM recruited some of the best designers in the world with legends like Eliot Noyes, Charles and Ray Eames, Eero Saarinen, Marcel Breuer and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe to top the list. In 1958, architect Eero Saarinen designed IBM's facility in Rochester, Minnesota, which is still considered to be a significant structure in today’s tech world. The massive structure is built with a sweeping curtain wall that spans over a massive 576,000 sq ft of floor space. Today the Rochester facility is considered to be the largest IBM corporate structure in the world.
