India Among 10 Largest Coffee Consuming Countries
8. Russia
The most upcoming trend in the Russian coffee market is the growing demand in consumers for fresh ground coffee pods. Due to which there was increase in market development since 2011 and this development accelerated in 2012. Fresh ground pods have increased the off-trade sales up to 25 percent, these pods are actually considered as an alternate for instant coffee but still its demand is higher. In Russia coffee consumption is seen steady over the forecast period. Coffee has a projected forecast period total volume CAGR of 4 percent, to reach consumption of 149,000 tonnes in 2017. According to the CAGR, the coffee consumption will reach to 4 percent in 2017.
9. Germany
In Germany, the coffee sales showed a mixed performance in 2012. Coffee pods and coffee beans have gained more popularity than fresh ground coffee. Consumers were actually divided into two groups where one group of customers use coffee pods and others use coffee beans in their coffee maker. According to CAGR the coffee sales growth will reach up to 3 percent by 2017.
10. France
Despite of slow volume growth in the off-trade sales, the coffee category had shown a healthy growth in 2012. Even in France the demand for coffee pods was higher when compared to other instant coffees and apart from that single serve portions were high in demand as they are considered as easiest way to enjoy a high quality coffee at home. Coffee in off trade sales is expected to grow regularly in the forecast period.
