The war between Sega and Nintendo has finally ended, but it was a aggressive journey
"Genesis does what Nintendon't" was Sega's huge and much uncomplicated tagline in its effort to win the battle of Genesis vs. Super Nintendo. It did work. Nintendo's reaction didn't get rid of the dishonor that its Super Nintendo was for kids, and provided Sega an opening to compete in the space. But the war between the two went far profound than that one campaign. The wars between Sega and Nintendo lasted from the 8-bit era of the 1980's to the 32-bit era of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Nintendo emerged the champion, but has since been exiled from its top spot by Sony and Microsoft.
