Founded in 2003 and based in Acton, MA, Newlans, Inc. specializes in reconfiguring broadband analog signal processing solutions that provides flexible frequency RF systems with expanded capabilities at reduced cost, size and power consumption.

Fabless semiconductor companies are witnessing a plethora of trends, which are steering new opportunities and challenges in the industry. The industry today is marked by trends such as smart phones with configurable front-end modules (which include programmable duplexer and adaptive antenna tuner), deployment of small cells in self-organizing networks, deployment of autonomous connected vehicles and intelligent distributed robotic platforms, which have become the focus for the industry leaders.

IEEE 802.1ad enabled smart phones, tablets are ensued to lead the development of computational, and bandwidth oriented apps. With this, trends are impending prevalent strain on the spectrum that is already fragmented and congested, and on digital processors that will need to compete with other power hungry devices in compact platforms with limited power sources.

Imminent Future of the Industry

Smart phones with configurable front end modules, which enable detection of white spectrum, and small cells will be critical. Innovative products and strategies will emerge to handle the traffic at the edge and core of the network. The adoption of analog coprocessors to augment digital signal processing in applications with stringent budget on size of the platform and availability of power is due to take place in the imminent future.

Find and Hire Resilient Talents

With the decline in defense R&D budget, aimed at high-risk high payoff projects, entrepreneurs have to double their inputs and innovative approach to scale their companies and this is proving to be a challenging paradigm for entrepreneurs.

A company is only as good as its employees are. Building an eminent workforce is a primary task in the hands of business leaders. It is imperative to find and hire resilient talents, as competition and challenges are only going to get colossal with increasing federal regulations to further abet it.( As told to Sagaya Christuraj)
