The industry is witnessing different trends in the recent times. An interesting trend among those is how technology is disrupting antiquated process and experience in lethargic industries. In regards to this, it is great to observe companies such Uber, Airbnb or Plated embracing innovation. Uber, for example, is innovating in the taxi space. Similarly, Airbnb is bringing in innovation with respect to hotels and Plated continues to explore the food sector. In fact, there are not many industries that haven't been impacted in a meaningful way by technology.
The upcoming technologies, Virtual reality is an emerging technology that Gaurav closely follows. It is possibly the next interphase platform in the industry. Many firms have commenced exploring the technology. Among them are Oculus Rift, a company that is currently acquired by Facebook and Magic Leap, which continue to build interesting products with respect to the technology. Another interesting technology that is quickly evolving would be the Cryptocurrency Bitcoin.

Prospects for Innovation
Presently, from a startup perspective, there are various interesting opportunities evolving in Health care and big data. Both these sectors extend promising opportunities for Innovation.
With respect to Healthcare, currently, the country is encountering a tough scenario owing to improper systems. In such a situation, technology is thought to play a pivotal role in streamlining processes and increasing efficiency. Furthermore, coming to Big data, in view of the large amounts of data being amassed at an unprecedented rate, it should be said that it is not done in a meaningful manner. Henceforth, technology needs to convert data into insights and insights into actions that a customer can use for their purpose.

The Crucial Obstructions
All entrepreneurs face challenges. The biggest challenge for the industry is finding talent. These days, there is a dearth of high-caliber engineers, across the sector. The problem is predominant in the Silicon Valley too. (As told to Anitha TS)
