More than half of today's companies will either cease to exist or be transformed far beyond recognition in the next 10 years. That's more than half the world's economy. That's billions of people who will be affected either directly or indirectly. It would be incorrect to say that we are facing the worst upheaval ever. As humans, we have faced and survived far worse. But, it would be accurate to say that the largest number of people will be affected in the next few years than ever before. Technology is the vehicle of this transformation.

Technology is transforming every aspect of our lives.

- Virtually limitless computational capacity is available on demand due to the rise of cloud computing.
- Almost everyone on the planet has multiple client devices.
- There is connectivity from client devices to the compute capacity in the cloud from anywhere.
- Enhanced client devices are providing virtual and augmented reality.
- Connected devices and sensors are beginning to monitor every person, property and piece of equipment that needs monitoring.
- Profound changes in transportation are resulting in self driving cars; trucks, drones and helicopters will follow soon.
