ScaleArc raises $12.3 Million in series C funding round

ScaleArc, A database infrastructure software developer has raised $12.3 million in a series C round of funding led by Accel partners. Existing investors Trinity Ventures and Nexus Ventures also took part in the round which brings the company’s total investment to $18.3 million. The new funds raised will primarily be invested in sales and marketing initiatives to fuel the company’s global expansion in Big Data market as well as maintain an aggressive product development roadmap. The company is headquartered in Santa Clara, CA , with a back office in Mumbai.


Founded in 2011 by Varun Singh, CEO, ScaleArc offers database infrastructure software to e-commerce and SaaS initiatives, enterprises, online gaming/digital media companies and technology service providers. ScaleArc iDB is software that inserts transparently between applications and databases, requiring no modifications to applications or databases to deploy.

The company’s present clientele includes Flipkart.com, Demand Media, Disney UTV, KIXEYE, Sazze (dealspl.us) and Weather Decision Technologies. ScaleArc has also joined the Global Cloud Network and F5’s technology alliance program to bring enhanced database infrastructure solutions to emerging markets and maximize the value of deploying the companies’ products together.
