The drastic downturn in handset prices and upsurge of smartphones penetration in India has impacted the data consumption in the country. According to a report by Morgan Stanley on India's telecom sector, data subscribers by 2018 are likely to reach 519 million with an average growth of 25 percent every year. In its reports, Morgan Stanley also believes a rise of 330 million internet users in 2016 fiscal year. When four friends – Ashish Srivastava, Anurag Srivastava, Amit Srivastava and Rajesh Banerjee – traced this growing market and opportunities way back in 2008, they decided to carve a niche with their out-of-the-box thinking and zest to make it big in the space. These OBD's had stories related to different brands after which callers were taken to question & answer round,wherein one has to give correct input (DTMF) to win gratification worth Rs.5 or Rs.10. The outcome of this initiative was a success as around 84 percent OBD's were connected and approximately 46 percent heard all 3 stories.

To keep the ball rolling, Pinnacle also came up with an ingenious service 'Pinnacle's Child Care Card' that provides novels services in m-health field that cares of immunization and vaccination reminders/alerts using mobile as a communication medium. Thus, this out-of-box thinking has bagged the prestigious 'Aegis Graham Bell Award 2013'.
