Silver Software expands India operations to spur growth
Silver Software, a leading U.K. based provider of software and safety engineering services in aerospace, railway signaling and telecom verticals, is expanding its India operations to meet its growth plans in the Asia-Pacific region.
The expansion plans include setting up a full-fledged software development centre in Bangalore and hiring 500 more engineers to take the headcount to about 900 over the next three years. Two-thirds of its engineers work here, while the rest are at its London and Madrid development centers.
The 12-year-old company provides engineering services to global aerospace firms such as Boeing, Airbus and Lockheed Martin. In the transport sector, it provides services to London Underground and Metro Madrid in Spain.
BEA tops in server software space
Independent analyst group IDC has identified BEA Systems as the leader in Indian application server software space. With a market share of 30 percent in the Indian application server software, BEA Systems has beaten global players in the middleware market, during the second half of 2006.
