Network General of U.S. to ramp up India operations

U.S. based IT management solutions firm Network General Corporation (NGC), is set to expand its India operations to develop new versions of its product range, catering to the Asia-Pacific region and the domestic market.
The Bangalore center is the company’s largest product development center outside the U.S., and accounts for 60 percent of the development resources worldwide. “We are investing $10 million over the next 18 months to expand the R&D facilities, and roll out a suite of new products and solutions,” said Network General CEO Bill Gibson.

The company has decided to ramp up its engineering team in India to 200 in the next 12-18 months. Currently, NGC’s 100-strong team of Indian engineers in the city has developed some of its flagship products like Sniffer Administrator, Visualizer and Portable.
