It is not only the capability but also the way of presenting the fact that matters a lot in life, says N Venkatraman, the newly appointed Head-Strategic Finance and Risk Management at Sonata Software. He joins Sonata after a combined experience of almost 15 years. In this position at Sonata, Venkat will oversee various aspects of Risk Management and Control functions, including valuation and deal structuring for M&As, Financial Information Systems, and Legal and Regulatory functions. Prior to joining Sonata, Venkat worked with Team Lease Services where he held the position of CFO and Head of Operations.

Belonging to a Chartered Accountants' (CAs) family, finance has been present in the gene of Venkat. He completed his CA in 1994 and started his career with Andersen, after which he spearheaded the finance functions at both Perot Systems and Mind Tree Consulting. Five years of experience gained at Andersen proved to be a turning point in his career.

Witty and eloquent by nature, he loves spending time with his two children and wife, a lawyer, and watching movies. Apart from that he loves reading spiritual books. Venkat counts integrity and honesty as two of the most important pillars to climb the ladders of success.

A leader himself in Sonata Software, he believes that a good leader is one who is inclusive in nature. "In Sonata, as a head of risk management, I will try in every possible way to look at things with a fresh eye and from a new angle," says Venkatraman.
