IBM seems to be making hay while the sun shines. As a majority of the companies will have to reorganize their data center facilities to ensure the security and efficiency of data, especially in the context of the country’s continuing growth to be a data center hub, the IT major IBM has launched its latest storage hardware, software, and services.

The new solution package will help businesses, governments, and other institutions to transform static data into more dynamic information that is accessible in a cloud computing environment. The company will invest $2 billion over three years in the data management platform.

The new products include IBM XIV system, DS5000, IBM SVC, and IBM Scale Out File Services, with their services ranging from increasing scalability, reducing complexity of information storage, and helping the clients manage and consolidate volumes of their business data.

“As India goes through a radical shift away from the decades-old client-server model to a radically more efficient Internet-style architecture, we are addressing the anticipated customer challenges with the new information infrastructure launch,” says Shashi B Mal, Director, Systems and Technology Group, IBM India and South Asia.
