10 KitKat Features Offering All New Android Experience

#8 Say “Ok Google” and get the work done

KitKat is on the mission to reduce your touch interactions with the mobile screen to perform the tasks such as searches, sending texts, to get directions or play music. All you need to say is “Ok Google” followed by the command to your phone when you are on the home screen or have Google Now pulled up to get the things done. You can say commands like “Ok Google, where is the closest Theater” or “Ok Google play A.R. Rahaman.”

The voice activated always-on search assistant was first seen in Moto X, the Android 4.4 is bringing it to the Nexus 5 and to the devices that gets the update. Now you can launch Google now by swiping to the left rather than from bottom to top swipe.

Even if you are the last one to get the new Android on your device, Google is already in the process to enhance the Google Now with new card types that carry the information that you might be interested in.
