Is Your Spouse A Financial Blunder?
4. You Have Vastly Different Attitudes Toward Money
They say “Opposite attracts”, but it does not mean that it will end up spelling ‘DOOM’. If you both have vastly different views and attitudes when it comes to your finances, even a slightest clash can create a huge mess up between you two. Maybe you are the spender, while he is a money saving freak or just the vice versa. Whatever the case may be, in a longer run situations may get ugly if you both keep nagging about it.
In such cases, the goal is not about proving who is right. Try not to spend beyond your means. Ignore reckless shopping and discuss with each other about the importance of saving. Instead of being in a situation where out of a blue moon you realize that you have almost half of your wealth, teach you partner to spend only a fraction of your wealth and save the rest so that you both can be healthy and happy in a longer run.
