5. He Declared Bankruptcy

Although Love comes before money alphabetically, it does not work the same in all situations for a couple. If your partner declares that he is financially broke or has gone bankrupt, you try considering two facts here – what it says about your spouse and what it will implement on your joint future. Bankruptcy is a synonym for a situation where the person you love got so deep in a financial crisis that s/he could not find a way out.

In such a situation, speak up to your partner frankly about the circumstances which lead him to this situation. Was it because of any kind of emergency or is entirely a financial irresponsibility. “Ask yourself: What was the situation is it likely to be repeated -- and are you jeopardizing your own financial well-being?” says Stephanie Kirkpatrick, LearnVest's Director of Financial Planning. Every couple goes through a situation like this but it does not that mean you need a lawyer to fix it.
