Investment Options for NRIs in India

What’s in investment for you?

You can invest in the majority of the sectors in India, apart from some ‘sensitive’ sectors such as some electronic equipment, atomic energy, defense-related industry, plantations (other than tea), gambling, and lotteries.

You can buy house, piece of land, commercial property. You can also invest in the real estate sector in India. Not only that, for investment, you can also ask for a loan against your accounts, except for your NRO savings account, against your investments against your other property etc.

Even if you find facilities of any credit, debit or ATM card useful, and is really interested in its reward points then you must apply.

You can also invest in Indian Post Office schemes such as Post Office Savings Account, Post Office Recurring Deposit, Post Office Time Deposit, Post Office Monthly Income, National Savings Certificate and Senior Citizen Savings.

Though, schemes such as the Indira Vikas Patra and the Public Provident Fund are unavailable for NRIs.
