World's 10 Best Women-Friendly Companies 2014


 Earnst & Young LLP: The global professional services firm E&Y has been conducting various programs to support women employees throughout their career, such as the Professional Women’s Network, Career and family transitions coaching program, Inclusiveness Leadership Program, Leadership Matters, Career Mentors and Sponsors Program, Today’s Families and  Sponsorship. The Professional Women’s Network encourages women executives to build strong relationships with the company’s clients. The Career and family transitions coaching program helps the new parents in the transition and multitasking. The Inclusiveness Leadership conducts a three-year program that prepares women executives for the next level leadership role. No doubt, women constitute 46 percent of the work force of E&Y and 45 percent of senior managers are women.

Grant Thornton: The global accounting firm runs a program called The Women at Grant Thornton, which focuses on increasing the number of women recruits, retaining them, increasing the number of women in leadership  and partnership roles, spreading the word about successful women leaders and their achievements and supporting women in various stages of their life and career. Here, women employees constitute 46 percent of the total work force and occupy 34 percent of senior leadership positions. Among the company’s top 10 percent highest earners, 17 percent are women. The board of director has 18 percent of women directors.
